After your journey to join the tour we will transfer you the short 68-mile distance down the spectacular Pacific coast to Ensenada, where you will enjoy an opportunity to relax in tranquil surroundings.

Day Two

We'll take you to the unique feature known as 'La Bufadora', one of the largest blowholes in the world, where water and trapped air explode from a cave below sea level. Then we'll move inland into the 'Valle de Guadalupe' to visit one of the vineyards in Mexico's most productive wine region.

Day Three

Today we head south along the coast past San Quintin, before the highway cuts inland near El Rosario. We overnight at Cataviña, in the heart of the spectacular Valle de Los Cirios.

We continue south through the valley, before detouring for our first sight of the Sea of Cortes, at tranquil Bahía de los Ángeles, where we spend the night.

Day Five

From Bahia de Los Angeles we rejoin the transpeninsular route to cross into Baja California Sur at Guerrero Negro. After lunch, depending on the season, we have the option of a whale watching trip to Laguna Ojo de Liebre (late December to mid April) or a visit to the world's largest salt plains. Then we head inland through the Desierto de Vizcaíno (another World Heritage Site) to the idyllic oasis town of San Ignacio.

Day Six

Today travellers can head into the Sierra de San Francisco to view the huge cave paintings, or, again depending on the season, opt for a full day at the whale-watching site at the Laguna de San Ignacio (mid January to mid April).

In the afternoon we move on to the oasis town of Mulegé, before staying the night in the beautiful Bahía Concepción.

After lunch we return to La Paz via the 'Pueblo Mágico' Todos Santos, with time to explore its art galleries and a chance to verify whether or not the Hotel California here really is the Hotel California.
